The Killing of My Self-Control
I wish just once I could watch a TV series casually, take in a few episodes each week. Something that would keep me interested, that I could admit watching to people I respect, without sucking my entire consciousness into the intimate lives of the characters. I just slammed through a pretty great show, AMC's The Killing - and this is totally not my genre. In fact, Downton Abbey was the last thing I watched with so little...abandon. It's a murder mystery set in Seattle following two detectives who both have serious personal issues. Det. Linden is the main character, her lady sleuthing ways reminded me of my faves Veronica Mars and Prime Suspect - definitely dark. I had to find out who the killer was. Had to. And somewhere in the middle of the Seattle night-time skyline sweeps and misty ferry boat rides to the casino chasing down Rosie's killer I pulled myself together and booked a plane ticket to see my sassy sissy who lives in, of course, Seattle. Which actually was an admirable display of self-control because I bought the ticket when it was moderately cheap rather than waiting for it to become super-cheap like it never will then paying more for it later.
No control here, just stay up as late as you want...family paint night!

None here either, let's go to the pool at bedtime and then have ice cream!

Summer, summer, sleep, summer. Summer, sleep, summer, summer. Could throw a bit more sleep in there...that could happen this weekend.
Haha, I liked the paint night and swim past bedtime no control :) I would have killed as a kid to go swimming past my bedtime!
ReplyDeleteI think having to go to bed when it's still light out in the summer is the worst part of being a kid. But they can't be graveyard shift kids either... :)
DeleteI've never watched The Killing before, but maybe I'll check it out because I love AMC's Mad Men and The Walking Dead.
