The best summertime tastes from this weekend...

Summer has arrived! I was living on a normal sleep-at-night schedule this weekend and spending time with old friends, relaxing. Backyard laughs were rolling...and I failed to take a picture of the baby red potato salad I like to make quite a bit. It looks a lot like this bad boy from Evil Shenanigans if I let the baby reds boil too long.

It's really easy! Start with 1-2 lbs baby reds, skin on, diced bite-size or quartered depending on size. Boil them to desired tenderness and chop one cup of drained bread and butter pickles. Throw them in a bowl with chopped up fresh dill and/or chives/green onions (whatever is fine, just use A TON) and 4-8 thick cut slices of bacon roughly chopped up and 1/2 cup mayonnaise and 1 cup sour cream. Add S & P to taste. Heavy on the P. Mix it all up and add more sour cream/mayo if you used 2 lbs of potatoes.

Also had flank steak tacos that were amazeballs at a friend's housewarming. Grilled corn tortillas. EPIC.

Lastly, my new favorite summer cocktail. Friends brought over black tea-infused vodka and we mixed it up with lemonade and attempted to play croquet. Basically we're talking about an Arnold Palmer with booze here, people. Hurray for summer!

  1. Hey! Thanks for stopping by. Isn't Vinny's the greatest? I bet you knew about it before me, though, so added cool points for you.

Yum. I would eat anything with baby red potatoes in it. My mom marinates them in this oil and mustard mixture that is literally to die for. I bet your salad fantastico also!

    Great blog
